A peated Islay single malt, Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish is bottled at 48%. It begins as the distillery's regular ten-year-old, matured in ex-bourbon casks, and is then finished in casks that previously held sweet Oloroso sherry, each one hand-picked.
The nose is sweet and peaty with medicinal notes, Manuka honey, strong clove, grilled smoked bacon, sweet leather, iodine and pine tar. The palate is sweet and aromatic, with wax, furniture polish, toffee syrup, maple syrup, bitter dark chocolate, pine needle and cedar. The finish is long, sweet and spicy, with chestnut honey and an antiseptic note.
