Laphroaig 10 Years Sherry Oak Finish is a peated Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 48%. After its first maturation it is finished in Oloroso European oak sherry casks.
That extra time in cask gives the smoky whisky sweet notes of Manuka honey.
The nose combines peat smoke, iodine and seaweed with honey, grilled bacon and clove. The palate starts soft and syrupy, with sherry, dark chocolate and toffee balanced by earthy peat, pine needles and oak. The finish is long, with a hint of smoke, umami, nuts and dried fruit.
