Laphroaig Lore is an Islay single malt introduced in 2016 and created by former Distillery Manager John Campbell. It is a marriage of whiskies matured in quarter casks, first-fill sherry butts and reused peated casks.
Peat smoke leads on both nose and palate, with dark sweetness and warming spice behind it. A peppery, chilli-like heat rises mid-palate, balanced by sherried richness and oak. The finish is long and sweet, with smoke and spice lingering.
