Lark Distillery – Monty Cask Release Single Malt Australian Whisky (50cl, 44%)

A single malt from Lark Distillery in Tasmania, released in late 2020 as the Monty Cask Release. It is bottled at 44% abv in a 500ml bottle, and 300 individually numbered bottles were produced. The whisky is finished in two fresh Amontillado casks chosen from Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley. The spirit itself comes from ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks at the Bothwell distillery, home of Nant Single Malt, and was picked to be delicate enough not to overpower the sherry. It is described as bright, with light vanilla and orchard fruit, and the Amontillado coming through clearly.
