Laurent-Perrier Brut Rosé is a non-vintage rosé Champagne at 12% ABV, made from 100% Pinot Noir. The house first released the cuvée in 1968.
Rather than blending red and white base wines, it uses cold maceration, often called saignée. Pinot Noir from 10 crus macerates for 48 to 72 hours, and the timing of the pressing is critical. The house has a winery dedicated to this single cuvée.
The nose is fresh raspberry and strawberry, with blood orange, rose petal, rhubarb and a hint of brioche. The palate is bright, with morello cherry, redcurrant and pink grapefruit peel, then pastry cream and white pepper, with a fine mousse. The finish is medium-long, chalky and spiced with clove and ginger.
