Laws Founders Select is a grain-to-glass bourbon from Laws Whiskey House in Denver, Colorado, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill uses four grains: corn, wheat, rye and malted barley, grown at altitude in Colorado's San Luis Valley. It is distilled in copper pot stills and aged in new charred American oak.
The nose offers toasted caramel, brown butter, dried stone fruit and baking spice. On the palate come sweet corn, butterscotch, wheat bread and apricot, with cinnamon and white pepper building slowly. The finish is medium, with toffee, toasted oak and a little cocoa bitterness.
