Laws Whiskey House Black & Gold Select is a Colorado four grain straight bourbon, created in collaboration with University of Colorado Athletics. It is a limited release, bottled at 110 proof, or 55% ABV, in a 75cl bottle.
The mash bill is 60% corn, 20% heirloom wheat, 10% heirloom rye and 10% heirloom malted barley. The barrels are chosen for flavour, balance and texture before being married together.
The nose shows cherry wood, beeswax, vanilla bean and golden raisin. The palate is sweet and full-bodied, with honey, vanilla, dried fruit, orange spice tea, almond butter, caramelised grain and oak. The finish is long and increasingly dry, with lingering almond and citrus.
