Ledaig 2012 9 Year Old Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Matured (56.8%)

This is a 9 year old peated Ledaig from 2012, a Limited Edition release matured fully in Bordeaux red wine casks. It is bottled at a cask strength of 56.8% ABV, in natural colour and without chill filtration. The distillery describes notes of heather, pine cones, woody sea salt and floral undertones that linger on the finish. The nose is smoked fudge, eucalyptus oil and carbolic soap. On the palate are burning heather and pine cones, grape skins and melon, and wood-smoked meats. As the smoke fades, the finish turns floral and ends with lime pastilles.
