Lindores Abbey First Release is a Lowland single malt from Fife, bottled in 2021 at 46% and sold in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a site where distillation was first recorded in 1494. The spirit is double distilled in copper pot stills and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, ex-sherry casks and STR wine barriques. The recipe follows the abbey's historical Aqua Vitae records, adapted for modern production. The nose is usually described as vanilla, caramel and orchard fruits with a little malt and gentle spice. On the palate come apple, pear and sweet cereal, with honey and cinnamon. The finish is medium in length, with warming spice and light oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
