Friar John Cor Cask, Chapter II is a Lowland single malt from Lindores Abbey Distillery, and the second release in its Cask Strength Congregation Batch series. It is bottled at 60.9%, non-chill filtered and without added colour. The whisky was matured in casks that previously held bourbon, STR red wine and rum, along with casks that held smoked whisky. Lindores also uses a fermentation of 117 hours and distils twice in smaller stills after the first run in the wash still. The nose is fruity and lightly smoky, with maple syrup, banana, dates, apple, cinnamon and demerara sugar. On the palate come pear, banana, cinnamon, caramelised almonds, gentle peat smoke and sea salt.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
