A cask strength single malt from Lindores Abbey in Fife, bottled at 60.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is Chapter 2 of The Cask Strength Congregation series and is bottled without chill-filtration. The whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and STR wine casks, the latter shaved, toasted and re-charred. The nose shows orchard fruit, with apple and pear, honey, vanilla custard and oak spice. The palate is powerful, with caramelised sugar, stewed fruit, dark chocolate and baking spices, plus red berries from the STR casks. The finish is long and warming, ending dry with butterscotch and toasted almonds.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
