Lindores Abbey Single Malt comes from the Fife distillery on the site where the first recorded distillation of Scotch whisky took place in 1494. This bottling dates from 2021 and is 46%, in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit is double distilled in custom-designed copper pot stills and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, sherry casks and wine barriques. It is non-chill filtered.
The nose is fresh orchard fruit and sweet pear, with gentle vanilla, light spice, malt and caramel. The palate has sweet cereal, caramelised sugar, vanilla custard and stone fruits with soft oak spice. The finish is medium to long, with sweetness, peppery spice and a hint of dried fruit.
