Lindores Abbey – Nectere (70cl, 47.2%)

Nectere is a single malt from Lindores Abbey, bottled at 47.2% in a 70cl bottle. It joins the distillery's reworked core range and matured entirely in sherry casks. Four styles are combined in the one whisky: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. The name comes from the Latin conectere, meaning to link or bind. The whisky is mahogany in colour, non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose brings dark sugar syrup, red apples, vanilla cream, raisins and cinnamon. The palate is velvety, with mild molasses, sticky dark fruit, chocolate raisins, nutty macaroons, toffee and pecans. The finish is long and creamy, with nutmeg and cinnamon.
