Lindores Abbey – Nectere (70cl, 47.2%)

Lindores Nectere is a single malt from Lindores Abbey, matured entirely in sherry casks and bottled at 47.2% in a 70cl bottle. Its name comes from the Latin conectere, meaning to connect or bind. Four types of sherry cask are used: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado and Palo Cortado. Using all four together in one single malt is unusual, and the balance between them is the aim of the whisky. Each type adds its own part to the character: dark fruit, warm spice, nuts and depth.
