This Lindores Abbey single malt comes from a single sherry butt, cask number 2018/0582, dated 2018. It is bottled at a cask strength of 52.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration.
The distillery stands in Fife on the site of the earliest written record of whisky distillation in Scotland, dating from 1494. The spirit is double distilled in copper pot stills.
The nose is rich with dried fruits, Christmas cake and dark chocolate, with oak spice, orange zest and toasted nuts. The palate is full-bodied, with stewed fruits, raisins and figs, then baking spices, toffee and a touch of leather. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, oak, chocolate and subtle spice.
