Lindores Abbey Thiron is a Scotch single malt from the Lindores Abbey distillery in Newburgh, Fife. Its name refers to the French abbey of Tiron, home of the monks who founded Lindores. It is made from locally grown barley and matured in ex-bourbon, STR wine and sherry casks. Bottled at 49.4% ABV, it is non-chill filtered with no added colouring.
The nose has honey, vanilla, soft spice and ripe apple, with hints of raisin and toffee. On the palate come baked apple, toffee, malt and light oak spice, with a gentle spiciness mid-palate. The finish is long, with caramel, soft spices and a hint of raisin bread.
