This is a 21 year old Littlemill, a Lowland distillery that has since closed. It was distilled in 1992 and matured in a refill hogshead, then bottled in August 2013 at 50% in a 70cl bottle. Only 130 bottles were filled.
It was released by Hunter Laing in the Old Malt Cask series, shortly after the Douglas Laing company divided between the brothers Freddie and Stewart and the range passed to Hunter Laing.
The nose is sweet, with leafy orchard fruits and a slight buttery pepperiness. The palate is sweet and mellow with cinnamon spice and apple skins. The finish is long and spicy, with a clear oaky note at the end.
