Littlemill – 31 Year Old 1991/2023 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice (70cl, 44.5%)

This is a single cask Littlemill from the Connoisseurs Choice range, selected by Gordon & MacPhail. The whisky was distilled in 1991 and matured for 31 years in a refill American hogshead, cask 549. It was bottled on 7 February 2023 at a natural cask strength of 44.5%, giving 226 bottles in 70cl. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour, and forms part of Recollection Series #2, which gathers whiskies from closed distilleries. Littlemill, in the Lowlands, closed in 1994. The nose is lemon and lime with subtle honey, fresh apple, tropical fruit and a touch of hay. The palate has sweet citrus, honeysuckle and garden mint, then dried pineapple balanced by charred oak and mild black pepper. The finish is medium, with grapefruit and peanut.
