Lochlea – Cask Strength Batch 3 (70cl, 59.8%)

Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 3 is the third in an annual series of limited-edition single malt bottlings from this Lowland distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 59.8% abv. Each batch is bottled straight from the cask without water. The Master Blender combined Oloroso sherry butts with ex-Islay peated casks, balancing richness and depth with a twist of smoke. The nose brings juicy ripe red fruits and savoury barbecue smoke. On the palate come cherries, ripe berries and dark molasses, lifted by ginger cake, toasted rye and charred wood smoke. The finish is long, with baking spice, salty smoke, oaky tannins and delicate red rose notes.
