Cask Strength Batch 3 is the third in Lochlea's annual series of limited-edition bottlings, each bottled straight from the cask without added water. This batch combines Oloroso sherry butts with ex-Islay peated casks, and is bottled at 59.8% abv. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose is rich and juicy, with ripe red fruits and a hint of smoky bacon. The palate brings cherries, ripe berries, ginger cake, dark sugar, dark rye and BBQ smoke. The finish is long, with baking spice, salty smoke, red roses and oaky tannins.
