Dark Briar is a distillery bottling from Lochlea in the Lowlands, an Oloroso sherry cask expression of its single malt. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Lochlea is an independent, family-run farm distillery. It is one of only four in Scotland that use only barley grown on their own land, and it distils and matures its whisky on site, so the malt can be traced from field to bottle. Its motto is "Dare to be honest". John Campbell, formerly distillery manager at Laphroaig, is Lochlea's production director and master blender.
