Lochlea Fallow Edition – Second Crop is a single malt from the Ayrshire distillery, on the farm where Robert Burns once lived. The name refers to the resting of the fields after harvest, and Second Crop to a new vintage of this seasonal release. It is made from Ayrshire-grown Scottish barley and matured only in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers dark chocolate, red berries and rich sherry. The palate is full-bodied, with dried fruit, soft leather, anise and rose petals, and the finish is long and warming with spice and dark fruit.
