Lochlea – Harvest Edition First Crop

Lochlea Harvest Edition First Crop is a Lowland single malt from the independent Ayrshire farm distillery. It was released on 6 September 2022 as the second bottling in the Seasonal Series, inspired by the annual harvest. The whisky combines Port casks, first-fill Oloroso sherry casks from Miguel Martin and first-fill Maker's Mark bourbon casks. Production came to 9,000 bottles, and it is bottled non-chill-filtered and at natural colour. The Port casks bring ripe berry fruits and gentle sweetness. The Oloroso adds dried fruits, chocolate and warming spice, while the bourbon casks contribute creamy vanilla, honey and soft oak.
