Lochlea – Harvest Edition Second Crop (70cl, 46%)

Lochlea Harvest Edition Second Crop is a Lowland single malt, the second in a series of four limited editions. It was made from Port casks, STR barriques and first-fill bourbon barrels, with a much higher share of Port casks this year to add creaminess alongside the peppery spice of the STR barriques. The Harvest Edition takes its inspiration from the end of summer, when golden barley is cut and later used for the following year's whisky at the distillery. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The nose brings dates, ripe red grapes and thick-cut marmalade. The palate has pink peppercorns, dried fruit and a touch of walnut, and the finish is creamy and lingering.
