Our Barley is the first expression from Lochlea, a family-run Lowland single malt distillery that uses its own barley and natural water resources. It was launched on 25 January 2022 to coincide with Burns Night.
The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, and is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Vanilla and nutty flavours are said to develop during maturation.
The barley is grown in fields once worked by Robert Burns, which is why the first release was timed in his honour.
