Lochlea – Our Barley Single Malt (46%)

Our Barley is a Lowland single malt from Lochlea, bottled at 46% and intended as the distillery's signature whisky within its Core Range. It is a vatting of three cask types in equal thirds: first fill bourbon, first fill oloroso and STR casks. The distillery sits on a family farm that grows its own barley, which gives the whisky its name. The nose is fresh malt like digestive biscuits, with heather honey and pears. On the palate are poached pears, vanilla, shortbread and good wood, leading to a creamy finish of malt with a hint of white pepper.
