Lochlea – Our Barley (46%)

Our Barley is a Lowland single malt from Lochlea, a small independent distillery that handles every stage itself, from sowing the barley to malting, distilling and maturing the spirit in cask. This is a small batch bottling, matured in first-fill bourbon casks, STR barriques and Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered and with no added colouring. The nose shows peach syrup, fruit sweets and freshly cut grass, with vanilla and caramel moving towards marmalade. The palate is spicier, with golden syrup, pepper, rye bread, roasted nuts and fresh cream. The finish is rich and spicy.
