Lochlea – Ploughing Edition Third Crop (46%)

This is the Ploughing Edition (Third Crop) from Lochlea, a working farm distillery. It is the fourth and last in a final set of four limited editions, closing the distillery's seasonal series. The spirit was matured entirely in ex-Islay barrels, and the peated casks and extra ageing make it the smokiest whisky Lochlea has released to date. It is bottled at 46% with natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose brings green apple, toffee and Lochlea's cereal character. On the palate there is more fresh fruit, then savoury smoke and malted biscuits, and the finish is coastal, with sea salt and a long trace of peat.
