Lock Stock & Barrel 21 Year Old is a straight rye whiskey, the fifth release in the Lock Stock & Barrel series. It was double distilled in copper pots from a mash bill of 100 percent rye and barrelled in May 1999. It matured for 21 years in new charred American oak in cold weather and was bottled unfiltered at 55.5% ABV (111 proof).
On the nose it shows warm spiced date cake, treacle toffee, orange peel and baking spices. The palate is full bodied and viscous, with treacle, caramel, coconut, cocoa, cinnamon and anise. The finish is long, with leather, oak, a slight smokiness and a drying rye spice.
