Lokita 12 Anos is an artisanal mezcal from Mexico, made from 100% maguey and bottled at 47%. It uses Tobalá agaves chosen by a maestro mezcalero, harvested after 12 years of growth.
The piñas are slowly cooked for three to four days in pre-Hispanic volcanic stone ovens, then crushed with a stone tahona. Fermentation takes place in oak vats, and the spirit is distilled twice in copper stills.
The palate is round and full-bodied, with citrus and spice, a touch of pepper and other spices, and a lasting impression.
