Lokita 14 Anos Maguey Mezcal Artesanal (70cl, 47%)

Lokita 14 Anos is an artisanal mezcal made from Madre Cuixe agave, a plant that takes 14 years to grow in harsh natural conditions. It contains less sugar and more fibre than many other agave types. The hearts, or piñas, are slow-cooked for three to four days in traditional pre-Hispanic volcanic stone pits, still wrapped in their leaves. They are then crushed under a heavy stone wheel pulled by a mule. The juice is fermented in oak vats and distilled twice in copper stills.
