The 2023 release of Longrow 21 Year Old, the peated single malt from the Springbank Distillery. It is drawn from 65% sherry casks and 35% bourbon casks, using barley given a 48 hour peat drying. Production is entirely in-house, bottling included, and the whisky is bottled without added colour or chill filtration.
The nose is savoury, with hazelnut and blackcurrant. The palate is syrupy sweet yet delicate, with fizzy cola bottles and cigar-box smoke. The finish is typical Longrow, recalling shingle beaches, flint and seaweed.
