Longrow Peated Campbeltown (November 2021) (46%)

This is the November 2021 edition of Longrow Peated, a heavily peated single malt from Campbeltown, made at Springbank distillery. It was matured in bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at 46%. Springbank does not chill-filter its whisky and adds no caramel or other colouring. The nose is creamy, with vanilla custard, and the smoke builds gradually rather than covering the other aromas. Toasted marshmallow, herbs and rich fruit follow. The palate is rich and creamy with a slight medicinal touch and smoke that arrives in waves. The finish is gentle, with the smoke lingering.
