Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2008 Champagne (1.5L)

Cristal 2008 is a vintage Brut Champagne from Louis Roederer, in a 150cl magnum. It is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from the estate's own vineyards, with a dosage of 8 g/L. The wine was aged for ten years before release, then left to rest for at least eight months after disgorgement. The saline quality comes from the dry chalk soil and a particularly cool summer. The bouquet is complex and intense. The palate is powerful, full yet tight, with a smooth, almost liquorous texture, and the finish is fresh, pure and taut with a saline edge.
