Lowrie's Reserve is a blended Scotch composed in 2023 by Jack Lowrie and Thompson Bros from four components. These are 28-year-old Strathclyde single grain from 1994 matured in a refill bourbon cask, an eleven-year-old Speyside single malt from a bourbon hogshead, a ten-year-old blend from three sherry hogsheads, and a small part that finished in a cask once holding Australian Shiraz and then Edinburgh beer. The name honours W. P. Lowrie, a blender and distillery founder or owner of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is bottled at 45.7%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour, in a 70cl bottle. The nose brings pear drops, white grapes, hops and toffee popcorn, with parsley and hay. On the palate come toffee brittle, almond nougat, strawberry and orange marmalade. The finish is bitter orange, clove oil and ginger with a gentle saltiness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
