A single cask Macallan from 2008, bottled at 12 years old by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 24.147. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 63.3% ABV, and 336 bottles were produced.
The whisky matured in an oloroso hogshead and was given a PX finish.
The nose starts with candied pitted olives and cherries in sweet sherry, then cherry Bakewell tarts and fizzy cherry cola bottle sweets. The palate is raisin concentrate, fig syrup and prunes in a sweet, bitter dark chocolate sauce. With water it turns towards sticky toffee pudding and spiced poached pears.
