This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Macallan, distilled in 2008 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society from a single cask, code 24.177. It was matured in Oloroso sherry and then finished in Pedro Ximenez casks, which gave a more rounded flavour. It is bottled at 62% in a 70cl bottle, and 291 bottles were produced.
The Society was founded in Edinburgh in 1983 by Phillip 'Pip' Hills, and its bottlings are named by a code in which the first number identifies the distillery and the second the cask. This one carries the name Fig Noir.
