A 15-year-old single malt from Macallan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It matures in sherry casks made from both American and European oak. The American oak brings vanilla, citrus and light oak notes, while the European oak casks add the rich fruit, sherry and firm wood of the traditional Macallan character.
The nose offers dried fruit, toffee and vanilla with oak and baked apple, then honey, chocolate and the sweetness of raisins and sultanas. The palate is balanced and spicy, with marmalade, pastry and vanilla, gentle oak and citrus. The finish is long, warm and creamy, with light ginger melting into caramel and citrus.
