This is an 18 year old Double Cask single malt from Macallan, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and released by the distillery.
Macallan stands on the River Spey at Easter Elchies, near Craigellachie, where Alexander Reid was among the first to receive a licence to distil, in 1824. Twenty-one stills now work there, using water from the Ringorm Burn spring.
Until the Fine Oak range was introduced, the distillery used a great many oloroso casks, each filled no more than twice. Macallan belongs to the Edrington Group.
