First-fill Oloroso hogshead finish
This is a 16 year old Macallan from the 2008 vintage, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 24.188 under the name Flamenco Fruitcake. It comes in a 70cl bottle, one of 307 drawn from a single cask. The whisky came from an Oloroso butt and was then finished in a first-fill Oloroso hogshead for extra maturation and depth of colour. The nose offers wood oils, walnut, dried figs, mango and raisins. On the palate come brandy butter over fruitcake, port and chocolate ganache, with orange peel, poached pear and tobacco once water is added. The finish is nougat, praline and a toffee and nut chocolate bar.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
