Macallan – 1876 Replica (70cl, 40.6%)

Macallan 1876 Replica is a single malt from the Replica series, the fourth edition in the range, dating from 2003. Macallan whisky maker Bob Dalgarno composed it after tasting an old Macallan from 1876 and selecting a range of casks to echo its flavour and design. The bottle and label copy the original closely, including the label of James Stuart and Co, then owner of Macallan. Stölzle Flaconnage in Yorkshire made the glass, with its bubbles and uneven thickness. Each of the 19,600 bottles was sealed by hand, and it has no added colouring. It came in a red velvet-lined box with a spare cork and a booklet with a foreword by Charles MacLean.
