Macallan – Classic Cut Edition 2018 (70cl, 51.2%)

This is the second release in The Macallan's limited annual Classic Cut series, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled at 51.2%, a strength chosen by whisky maker Ian Morrison as the best for this malt. The whisky comes from sherry oak casks, which give a dominant sweetness and balanced aromas. After ten to fifteen minutes in the glass, citrus fruits, sweet vanilla and spice come forward. The finish is long and dry, with oak.
