Macallan – Classic Cut Edition 2021 (70cl, 51%)

This is the 2021 Classic Cut, a Speyside single malt bottled at 51% in a 70cl bottle. It was created by Macallan's whisky makers to show the part played by American ex-bourbon oak casks in the distillery's range. The bourbon casks bring a sweet lightness, which is set against the depth of Macallan's sherry-seasoned American oak casks. The colour is golden oak and entirely natural. Orange peel and oil, fresh vanilla and ginger come first on the nose, with fruit gums and marzipan. The palate is fresh oak, gingerbread, vanilla custard and cinnamon, and the finish is medium sweet with spiced fruits.
