Macallan – Classic Cut Edition 2022 (70cl, 52.5%)

This is the 2022 edition of Macallan Classic Cut, a single malt bottled at 52.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was made by the Macallan whisky making team to show the part American ex-bourbon oak casks play in the distillery's range. The whisky combines ex-bourbon casks with ex-sherry casks, both of American oak, and was bottled in its natural colour. Grapefruit runs through it alongside vanilla and Macallan's characteristic spice and wood. The colour is golden butter toffee. The nose brings grapefruit, peach, apple and orange, vanilla sponge, oak, light spice, orchard blossom and almonds. The palate has fresh fruit, caramel, a hint of chocolate, lemon sponge, nuts and oak. The finish is sweet and creamy with warming spice.
