The 2024 Classic Cut is the eighth release in Macallan's annual, limited series. It is bottled at 52.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle and combines American bourbon oak with European oak sherry casks. Whisky maker Steven Bremner selected two strengths for it: the full 52.4% and a version cut with water to 40%, so that the change in flavour can be followed.
The nose is rich vanilla, orchard fruit, marzipan, citrus peel, fresh herbs and sweet oak. The palate brings vanilla custard, milk chocolate, sweet green apple and balanced oak spice. The finish is long, rich and sweet.
