Macallan Edition No. 2 is a limited Speyside single malt bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was created in collaboration with the Roca brothers, Josep, Joan and Jordi, of the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, working with Macallan's whisky maker Bob Dalgarno.
The whisky matured in American and European oak, using seven types of sherry cask from four bodegas.
The nose offers candied apples and ginger over molasses syrup, with vanilla and tropical fruit and a fine woody tone. On the palate it is full-bodied, with clove, black pepper, chocolate and brown sugar, then oak, nuts and a hint of liquorice. The finish is long and warming.
