Macallan – Edition No. 5 (70cl, 48.5%)

Macallan Edition No. 5 is a Speyside single malt bottled in 2019 at 48.5%, in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement. The edition celebrates the natural spectrum of colour. Macallan worked with the Pantone Color Institute to develop a violet shade that appears on the packaging. The nose is vanilla, toffee and oak, with nutmeg, ginger, lime, a little basil and pear. On the palate it is fresh and sweet, with caramel turning to poached peach and ripe pear, then sweet toffee and light spice from oak, nutmeg and ginger. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness.
