This is a Macallan single malt from The Harmony Collection, made in collaboration with JING Tea and inspired by its Phoenix Honey Orchid tea. It is a travel retail release in a 70cl bottle.
Most of the whisky matured in sherry seasoned American oak. Sherry seasoned European oak adds roasted richness and a touch of astringency, and a subtle addition of ex-bourbon casks brings sweetness.
The nose is peach and apricot with floral honey, tropical fruit, toffee and sweet oak. On the palate are fresh peaches in rich syrup, warm citrus and toffee, ending in a delicate leafy astringency. The finish is fruity, sweet and complex.
