This is a Canadian single malt from Macaloney's Island Distillery in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, released in the Peat Project series. It matured fully in a Portuguese Moscatel barrique and was bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The barley was grown in British Columbia, and the malt was smoked in the distillery's own kiln with peat from the Olympic Peninsula, to 54 ppm. The whisky was distilled, matured and bottled in Victoria. It is a single cask, non-chill-filtered and free of added colour. The nose combines medium peat smoke and campfire with cigar, dry hay, vanilla pod and white Moscatel. On the palate the peat is velvety and strong, alongside pineapple, sultanas, pear and fig. The finish is dry and lightly salty, with smoke lingering.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
