Brukswhisky DLX II is a Swedish whisky from Mackmyra, a deluxe version of its Brukswhisky and part of the Moment range of limited editions. Angela D'Orazio was the master blender, and the outturn is 1,999 bottles at 44% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is between 9 and 11 years old and was aged in the Bodås Mine warehouse. The recipe combines ex-bourbon casks, including one filled with smoky tail distillate, oloroso casks that had been freshly saturated, and Swedish oak.
The nose offers light peat and smoke with oak, honey, vanilla, pears, citrus and a hint of raisins. On the palate come soft smoke, juniper, vanilla caramel and ripe pear, with a light oily texture. The finish has peat, juniper, roasted oak and a touch of tobacco leaf.
